January Beach Blues | The Coat & Skirt OOTD

Hello you lovely lot,

We did it. We survived the never-ending dullness that is January!
We made it out the other end with probably too much comfort chocolate in our bellies and too much retail therapy thanks to those amazing but dreadfully addictive sales.
I think you should definitely award yourself with more retail therapy, perhaps my go-to look this month may inspire you. (I apologise in advance for being such a bad influence on your bank account.)
This look is incredibly different to my usual floaty midi skirt and ridiculous OTT style, and it may indeed look like I've somewhat turned my style down a notch.
I'm aware that for some this maybe far from an everyday look and more a formal look.
If that is the case, I want to show you how easy it is to simply stick a skirt (any skirt, but skaters and minis are the easiest to style) over a pair of leggings to jazz up your day-to-day winter style. The great thing about leggings is that they can keep you so warm, so much so that I've bunned the tights this winter. New Look's tights are the bomb.
Pair it with a white or black shirt and you're ready to go. Perfect.
I think everyday fashion sometimes runs the risk of becoming boring in the winter months but a dash of colour can change everything.
Life is beautiful - dress accordingly.

I have a controversial secret which I know many will probably disagree with. Ready for it: I'm not a fan of wearing black. The shock, the horror. As much as I love this current monochrome trend, I personally think that white rules over black. It's fresh, crisp and if worn well can make you look brighter and alive; and for someone who runs on only half an engine, looking alive is crucial! My other favourite and go to colour this season is cobalt blue, so this outfit has it all for me.
Colour is so important on grey days like this one.

Would you believe that I bought this for £5 (Free P&P) during LA's SS14 sale?! Crazy. I love the tiny zip and asymmetrical/waist white detail. Such a simple yet unique design.
I've been waiting to show you guys my beautiful coat for a while now as I absolutely adore it.
My coat is from Michael Kors, it has beautiful gold zips and buttons which look amazing with the black, making the gold pop.
I am a sucker for black and gold, therefore a sucker for my coat.
Unfortunately my coat is no longer available as I was gifted it back in November, I'm unsure if it's still around and where to find it; however I have found a similar MK (no.1) and a vast selection of black and gold jackets. Mhmm beautiful.

1. Michael Kors - Asymmetric Hooded Belted Jacket, £76 2. Via Spiga - Active Anorak w/ Hood Gold Hardware, £68 3. Cini - Zipped Cape Coat, £455 4. Moschino - Chain Trimmed Coat, £1796
1. Moschino (Vintage) - Black & Gold Sequin Blazer, £590 2. Rag & Bone - Silver Tuxedo Metallic Jacquared Trimmed Blazer, £198 3. House of Fraser - Trevano Jacket, £44
The black and gold combo completely matches my boots, which I won't really focus on today, however you can find where I recently featured them here.
My white tee is simply from H&M, you can find it here.
I am wearing bare minimal make up, the only product of significance is my lip colour, Nars - Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella. I am so in love with lip pencils and Nars just continues to wow me with them!

I had a wonderful day at the beach and I'm so glad that you finally got to come along with me.
I hope you enjoyed this piece, I'd love to know any thoughts you have on it so do get in touch! Feedback means the absolute world.
What's your favourite item? Are you loving the skirt, the coat or both?!

Pick Me Up Weekly - 20

Hello my marvellous humans,

I hope you are all dandy as dandy can be and your week hasn't been too manic! What have you been up to? I've spent mine in and out of hospital appointments, I do hope it's been better than my thrilling week!

VINE TIME!

  <
I cannot stop laughing at the first two, does that make me a bad person?

This was posted by a very lovely person on Instagram and I couldn't help but share it with you.
It's important to remember that the small things change the world.
I feel that we live in a mindset, me especially, where we think that only big things can change the world.
When actually just one smile at that stranger can start a domino effect of good in the world. Be bold, be brave but don't forget the in-betweens.

My favourite song this week is Lemaitre -  Cut To Black.
It's such an upbeat and happy song, I hope I can send those vibes to you through this video.

This music video is actually made by Sonor Films, a production company that I am the Social Media Manager for. I really wanted to share it with you because I genuinely think the music video is so well done and the transitions are just, wow.
I'd appreciate your thoughts on the song as I'd love to pass any comments on to the gang!
Have a fantastic week and see you on Saturday my lovelies!
Well done for surviving; I know it's been snowing very badly in the North of England!

Quick Blog Posts Ideas | Advice

Hello you lovely lot,

I have been graced with the incredibly annoying mindfuzz, or writer's block as they say.

Now I'm not sure, this may just be down to my current crazy lifestyle and that putting that time aside to write becomes Mission Impossible. Baring in mind that I do keep a post schedule, I swear there are just days where you don't feel like following it. Your schedule for posts just becomes unappealing and you know you need to have a time out or write a completely unplanned post.

Now after having my time out, I felt like writing a quick completely unplanned post and I had no idea what to base it on.
Which got me thinking, why not write a post on quick blog posts that you can put together in seconds.

SO here goes;

What did you have for breakfast this week? Ok no seriously bare with me. Is there any food you've eaten that you'd recommend? For example, my mother tried making new healthy muffins for breakfast this week. I'll definitly consider sharing them with you soon. Food isn't a pointless thing to blog and talk about. You'd be surprised by the amount of meals I've had inspired by bloggers.

IG - My breakfast has me all heart-eyes!
Where do you want to go on holiday this year? This is a great ones in terms of photos because you can simply take them off google rather than have to worry about taking blog worthy pictures!*

What books, shows or movies have you watched this week? Were they good/bad? Remember not too many spoilers!*

Share your favourite music or artists or cutest YouTube videos that you adore; this is similar to what I do within my Pick Me Up Weeklys.*

Have you had to make any hard choices or been in any bad situations this week? Pass on the knowledge you've learnt to your readers or even write a letter to your future self.*

What's on your bucket list?*

What 10 facts do your readers not know of you?* Perhaps ask your readers to comment their's as well!

What are your favourite childhood pictures of yourself and the stories behind them? Share 3 or so. Everyone is nosey secretly, you'd be surprised the amount of people who would read it!*

Along that note, what is your earliest of favourite memory?*

A 'what's on my bedside table/night stand post', a lazy version of a 'what's in my bag'. I mean you can take the picture from your bed!

Share a secret. Not quite as big as the secrets on Pretty Little Liars, but you get the jist.*

List your favourite quotes and who they're by.*

(List galore!)

List your favourite actors and their top films.*

List your favourite restaurants or to-dos in your nearest city.*

List any of your family's tradition.*

List and find cute useful or even pointless things for under £10.*

List your favourite bloggers, instagrammers or tweeters. Explain why you like them.*

List your current favourite or helpful apps.*

Why did you start your blog? Share your story! Your blogging triumphs and even fails.*

I've suggested as many as I can that involve little photography. I believe blogs are 50% words and 50% photos so having an opportunity where you can focus mainly on words is never one I turn down.
All those with an * suggests that little photography is involved and can be mainly stock.
This list is probably fantastic also for new bloggers!

Do you want to take any for a spin or have any other suggestions to add?

I hope these are helpful to some and it's a pleasure filling your noggin up with my words.
Do stop by again.

All my love,
